Military Auxiliary Power Units
Honeywell has designed and delivered a wide range of APUs (auxiliary power units) that provide secondary power for a number of leading military helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft programs, including the C-130 cargo aircraft, F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, Apache AH-64, Blackhawk UH-60, and Chinook CH-47.
The Honeywell 36-150 auxiliary power unit is a single-shaft, constant-speed gas turbine engine that provides shaft and pneumatic power either singly or simultaneously for aircraft as well as ground-based applications. Shaft power is typically used to drive AC/DC generators, hydraulic pumps, cooling fans and accessory transmissions, while pneumatic power is used for main engine starting, air conditioning, anti-icing, and heating systems.
