The AM Series is the toughest actuator model within Ultra Motion's A-Series, featuring extensive ruggedization including enhanced resistance against shock and vibration, a conformal coated controller PCB, MIL-spec connectors, and a hardcoat anodized aluminum enclosure for EMI/EMC protection. It utilizes advanced proprietary Phase Index non-contact position sensing technology, which provides absolute digital position feedback as well as Field-Oriented Control (FOC) of the motor.
The lightweight actuator can be controlled via CAN 2.0B, RS-422 serial, and RC PWM. It is rated to IP67 while static and to IP65 under dynamic conditions, and is ideal for hard-wearing aerospace and defense applications such as flight control surfaces, UGV brakes and transmission, and thrust vector control of rocket engines.
